Accounting Associate

We are seeking a full-time Accounting Associate for our Elgin, IL location working Monday – Friday, generally 8 am – 5 pm. The Accounting Associate will perform accounting functions to support the activities of the finance department.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Perform AP, AR & financial reconciliation.

· Assist in monthly closes – afterhours.

· Resourcefully assist people on A/R & A/P matters and issues.

· Working with spreadsheets, sales and purchase ledgers and journals.

· Provide administrative support to coordinators when needed

· Heavy data entry

· Scanning, filing on day-to-day basis

· Assist in customer satisfaction & answering phone calls

· Calculating and checking to make sure payments, amounts and records are correct.

· Sorting out incoming and outgoing daily post and answering any queries.

· Managing petty cash transactions.

· Controlling credit and chasing debt.

· Reconciling finance accounts and direct debits.

· Assist in monthly closes – afterhours

· Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Accuracy and strong work ethic

· Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing

· Specific detail for competent accounting performance

· Patience and ability to concentrate for long periods of time on accounting data

· Proficient computer skills – Accounting programs, Microsoft word, excel, power point

· Action-oriented, team oriented, and personable

Education and Experience:

· Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required

· Advanced knowledge using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
