Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located at St. Charles Surgical Hospital in New Orleans, LA, for a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will oversee and manage financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger management. Responsibilities also include preparing financial statements, conducting account reconciliations, assisting with budget preparation, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulations. Collaboration with other departments to support financial decision-making will be required.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger systems, and financial reporting
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and maintain attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Experience with healthcare finance or nonprofit accounting is a plus
- CPA certification is advantageous but not required
