St Charles Community College is seeking a Full time Mechanic/Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repair of electrically powered, gasoline and diesel-powered equipment, machines and vehicles.

St Charles Community College is seeking a Full time Mechanic/Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repair of electrically powered, gasoline and diesel-powered equipment, machines and vehicles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs tune-ups, lubrication, oil and filter changes, adjust or changes belts and hoses on all vehicles.
- Repairs a variety of problems including electrical systems, brakes, carburetors, engine and engine compression, clutch, transmission, injectors, differentials, pumps, muffler, hydraulic and power take-off operations.
- Sharpens or replaces blades on grounds equipment.
- Repairs all grounds equipment including snowplow equipment.
- Knowledge of welding and fabrication is required.
- Performs preventive maintenance of vehicles, carts, and equipment.
- Performs inventory and requisition parts as required.
- Tracks repairs and maintenance.
- Assists with general maintenance.
- Assists with general grounds work.
- Operation of campus vehicles as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum Two years experience in vehicle repair and maintenance with 1 year of small engine repair.
- Must be able to troubleshoot, repair, replace, and install equipment from blueprints and schematics.
- Must be able to use hand tools, pneumatic tools, computer with excel or other database software, testing equipment, tire tools, press welders, and sanders.
- Valid Class A, B, C, or E Driver's License required.
