The Assistant Principal of Instruction will be responsible for overseeing the instructional programming and coaching support. He or she will serve as an active member of the administrative team in overseeing the daily operations of the school. This will include directly managing the school’s instructional program, supporting the management of instructional staff by providing weekly coaching and feedback to teachers on their effectiveness in meeting the needs of St. Anthony’s students, identifying instructional goals, designing, and delivering professional development to meet the instructional needs of teachers. The Assistant Principal of Instruction will also work collaboratively with the Director of Curriculum for all coaching and instructional responsibilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Works collaboratively with Principal and Assistant Principal on the daily operations of the school
- Works collaboratively with Principal and colleagues to ensure a Safe Environment
- Develop the school wide master schedule collaboratively with the Operations Assistant Principal
- Provides coaching, observation, and feedback to HS staff
- Facilitates weekly department collaborative meetings with teachers to plan units, lesson plans, examine assessments and student data, and provide feedback on instruction and curriculum design
- Manages course and department-specific scope and sequence
- Facilitates the creation and maintenance of department-specific grading practices
- Works collaboratively with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction to coordinate the administration of accountability assessments (AP, ACCESS, ACT Aspire, Forward, ACT)
- Support ELL program and provide feedback and support. Support the ELL program to ensure all ELL assessment and evaluations are completed for the campus
- Monitor academic progress of students through analysis of formative and summative assessments
- Provide onboarding and mentoring sessions with all new teachers
- Work with university partners to provide extended opportunities to students
- Supervise and direct the work of the counseling department collaboratively with the Assistant Principal of Operations
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS |
- A strong belief in St. Anthony’s mission
- Master’s Degree is required preferably in School Administration
- Three years teaching experience required, 2 years of school leadership experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success in leading in a diverse environment
- A valid Wisconsin License as a Principal/Assistant Principal preferred or in progress.
