St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Manteca, Calif. is looking for a dynamic Youth Ministry Coordinator who is a practicing Catholic striving to live out the Gospel message with a heart for teenagers and a desire to see teens grow in holiness and mission. The Youth Ministry Coordinator (YMC) is responsible for implementing a year-round formation model encompassing the social, spiritual and service aspects of the Catholic faith for Middle and High School aged youth. Additionally, s/he will be responsible for accompanying and mentoring youth seeking the reception of the sacraments of confirmation, reconciliation and Eucharist.

- Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress (psychology, theology or related subjects) or three (3) years of experience working with teenagers
- Working knowledge of group dynamics, as well the ability to assist in coordinating events and relating to people from various socio-economic and ethnic groups
- Robust faith life, centered on prayer, the Eucharist and reconciliation
- Basic computer skills in working with word processing, spreadsheet, database, scheduling and publishing software

Our Parish: St. Anthony's Catholic Church was established as a Catholic parish in 1917 in Manteca, California. In the early 1900s, Portuguese dairy farmers who migrated to the area after the opening of the irrigation district in 1909, would travel by horse and buggy for about an hour to nearby mission churches to attend Mass. In 1913, Father William McGough started coming to Manteca twice a month to say Mass upstairs in the Cowell Building (now the Bernacchi Building). In late 1915, a group of Catholics met at the Board of Trade Hall (now Manteca Bedquarters) and planned the construction of a new church to seat 350 people at a cost of $4,000. More than 100 years later, St. Anthony's has blossomed into a multicultural parish serving over 5,600 families. The vision is to continue St. Anthony's missionary roots to build a strong family of faith around Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.
