Overview
The Part-Time File Clerk supports SACHR’s administrative and program operations by maintaining accurate, organized, and confidential records. This role is critical to ensuring compliance, continuity of care, and smooth program functioning in a fast-paced harm reduction environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and aligned with harm reduction values.
Responsibilities
- Organize, file, and maintain physical and electronic client and program records.
- Ensure files are accurate, complete, and stored in accordance with confidentiality and privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA where applicable).
- Assist with data entry, scanning, copying, and document retrieval.
- Maintain filing systems and track records to ensure easy access for authorized staff.
- Support audits, reporting, and internal reviews by preparing requested documentation.
- Shred and securely dispose of outdated or unnecessary records per organizational policy.
- Collaborate with program and administrative staff to ensure records are up to date.
- Uphold trauma-informed, anti-racist, and person-centered care approaches in all interactions.
- Perform other clerical and administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace)
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures
Preferred
- Bilingual (e.g., English/Spanish).
- Knowledge of local Bronx and NYC resources, housing systems, and public benefits.
- Experience using client database systems (e.g., AIRS, eSHARE, MDToolBox).
