What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Officer position at ST ANDREWS SCHOOL OF DELAWARE INC?
St. Andrew’s is seeking a security officer who will operate the welcome center by providing surveillance of campus grounds, and protecting our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Security has an on-campus presence 24/7. This person must have strong people skills, a strong work ethic, and excellent judgment. Shifts include various hours, including night, weekend, and holiday shifts that involve considerable exposure to all weather elements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor and authorize the entrance of vehicles and/or people on the property.
- Secure premises by patrolling regularly either on foot or in a vehicle.
- Monitor surveillance equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Adhere to all St. Andrew’s operating procedures.
- Immediately respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to students, employees, and customers.
- Physically demanding tasks may include running short distances, squatting, bending, lifting (potentially removing a victim from harm’s way), climbing, and handling a physical confrontation.
- Provide medical assistance, administering CPR, AED, or first aid as needed.
Skills and experience:
- Must be at least 20 years of age.
- Must be a high school graduate or possess a high school equivalency certificate.
- Possession of valid driver’s license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
