Position Summary
St. Andrews School is seeking an experienced, motivated, and dependable Program Coordinator to join our leadership team. This position serves as a key support to the Executive Director and Assistant Director and is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of both our preschool and school-age programs.
The Program Coordinator provides leadership and oversight during daily program operations, supports staff, monitors classroom quality and licensing compliance, assists with maintaining ratios, and helps ensure a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for children, families, and staff. This individual must be able to confidently supervise staff, make decisions, solve problems, and maintain professionalism while supporting the overall mission of the school.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily supervision and operation of preschool and school-age programs.
- Provide leadership and support to teaching staff throughout the day.
- Monitor classroom ratios and ensure compliance with all Bright from the Start regulations.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide coaching, guidance, and feedback to staff.
- Assist with staff scheduling, classroom coverage, and break coverage as needed.
- Support classroom management and assist staff with challenging behaviors.
- Ensure children are actively supervised and engaged in developmentally appropriate activities.
- Assist with maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment throughout the school.
- Support student arrivals, departures, transitions, afternoon activities, and after-school programming.
- Help oversee afternoon operations and closing procedures.
- Address parent concerns professionally and direct issues to administration when appropriate.
- Assist with incident reports, accident reports, and other required documentation.
- Ensure center policies and procedures are consistently followed.
- Assist with family events, special programs, field trips, and summer camp activities.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Executive Director or Assistant Director.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Associate’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education is required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a licensed childcare center.
- Previous supervisory, leadership, or management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Knowledge of Georgia Bright from the Start licensing regulations preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively supervise and support multiple classrooms.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
- Experience with Brightwheel or similar childcare management software preferred.
- Must successfully pass all required criminal background checks.
- Must complete all required state training requirements.
- CPR and First Aid Certification required within 45 days of employment.
- Health and Safety Orientation Training required within 90 days of employment.
Schedule
- Part-Time Position
- Monday through Friday
- Typical schedule: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM (hours may vary based on program needs)
- Occasional attendance at staff meetings, family events, and special programs may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move throughout the facility and playground areas.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and actively participate in classroom and outdoor activities as needed.

Pay
$18.00 – $20.00 per hour
