What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator - Department of Corrections - RI position at SSTAR?
The Program Director is responsible for the overall direction of the program and the management of day-to-day operations. This includes treatment program planning and implementation, adherence to professional and accreditation standards, on-site personnel management, and responsiveness to the needs of the Sheriff, the Superintendent, the Deputy Superintendent, and their designees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Program Director shall:
Provide overall management and direct the day-to-day operations of the program.
Complete all required reports accurately and on time.
Ensure compliance with all contract requirements.
Maintain all relevant accreditation standards.
Oversee and maintain policies and procedures related to personnel management.
Respond promptly and professionally to the needs and requirements of the on-site Superintendent and other designated officials.
Provide the contracting agency manager or designee with all requested and required reports in a timely manner.
Demonstrate understanding of professional ethics, safety protocols, departmental procedures, and performance criteria.
Complete all reports, documentation, and special projects in a professional and timely manner.
Develop policies and procedures, treatment schedules, staff schedules, and other operational documents as required to meet the changing needs of the facility.
Foster an atmosphere of cooperation between SSTAR's program and on-site personnel.
Demonstrate thorough understanding of both SSTAR and Sheriff's Department philosophies and missions.
Maintain compliance with federal confidentiality laws and CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) regulations and standards.
Adhere to SSTAR's code of professional ethics.
Demonstrate knowledge of required roles and responsibilities in the event of a fire or other emergency.
Participate in ongoing training, both in-service and off-site, to enhance professional competence and maintain professional accreditation.
Share information and education acquired through training or workshops with other staff and integrate new knowledge into on-site activities.
Respond to clients, staff, and visitors in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
Develop cooperative working relationships with coworkers, on-site personnel, and external agencies.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Justice Services.
Participate actively in clinical supervision.
Experience and Skills:
Education, Experience, and Skills
Master's degree in Criminal Justice, Addiction, Psychology, or a related field.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a relevant treatment field.
Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) required within one (1) year of hire.
In-depth knowledge in the treatment of substance use disorders and other related clinical issues.
Demonstrated skills in both clinical and administrative supervision.
Experience in program development and curriculum design is advantageous.
Knowledge of correctional culture and experience providing treatment in a correctional setting is desirable.
Skills in contract preparation and contract management are desirable.
Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000
