Job Summary
SSR Total IT is seeking an experienced Engineering Practice & Delivery Leader to oversee project delivery, engineering standards, and resource planning within our Infrastructure & Security Engineering division.
This role is responsible for ensuring successful execution of infrastructure, onboarding, and security projects while providing leadership over scheduling, capacity planning, technical standards, and team development. The position is ideal for a former systems or infrastructure engineer who has moved into delivery, project, or technical leadership within an MSP or consulting environment.
You will play a key role in improving delivery consistency, supporting engineering staff, and ensuring client environments are implemented according to SSR standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of infrastructure, onboarding, and security projects across multiple clients
- Manage project scope, timelines, resources, and execution quality
- Oversee engineering scheduling, workload planning, and capacity management
- Maintain and enforce engineering standards, documentation, and best practices
- Coordinate project handoffs between Sales, Engineering, CSMs, vendors, and clients
- Monitor project profitability, utilization, and delivery performance
- Support employee development, mentoring, and technical growth within Engineering
- Act as a senior technical planning resource and escalation point when needed
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, quality, and operational efficiency
Qualifications
Required
- 7 years of IT experience with a strong infrastructure or systems engineering background
- 3 years leading technical projects, delivery efforts, or engineering teams
- Experience working in an MSP, consulting, or multi-client IT environment
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms, and security fundamentals
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Preferred
- Experience managing project delivery or engineering teams in an MSP
- Familiarity with Azure, virtualization, networking, and security frameworks
- Experience with project planning, resourcing, and capacity management
- Certifications such as PMP, Azure, VMware, Cisco, or similar
