SSR Mining’s Cripple Creek & Victor Mine is seeking a Geology Drilling Technician to support our Drill Services and Geology teams. This role is critical in ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient collection, handling, and tracking of geological samples and drilling data. The ideal candidate will thrive in a hands-on mining environment, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and prioritize safety in all aspects of their work.
Day To Day

Job Description
SSR Mining’s Cripple Creek & Victor Mine is seeking a Geology Drilling Technician to support our Drill Services and Geology teams. This role is critical in ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient collection, handling, and tracking of geological samples and drilling data. The ideal candidate will thrive in a hands-on mining environment, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and prioritize safety in all aspects of their work.
Day To Day
- Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and hazard reporting.
- Maintain clean, organized, and compliant work areas.
- Collect and deliver to various areas; drill core and RC samples from contractor(s)
- Organize and store samples. Be able to split or saw rock core
- Insert and record accurately the QA-QC standards and blanks into submittals.
- Arrange for sample shipments
- Maintain the core shack facilities in a clean and safe condition
- Prepare supplies for the drill crews and deliver to the field
- Assist the drill services team / geologists with field activities
- Operate light vehicles and forklifts safely.
- Be willing to operate, forklifts, backhoe, and drive truck and trailer.
- Enter daily drill production, sample counts, contractor reports, or equipment usage as required.
- Support documentation and reporting for drilling metrics and compliance needs.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- History of learning new skills and problem solving as a team member
- Valid Driver License
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, email).
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to communicate effectively both written and verbally
- Must have a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals and deadlines
- Ability to work well with others and demonstrate situational awareness
- Must be able to handle and lift up to 75 pounds and be prepared to work in adverse weather conditions
- Role is based at the Cripple Creek & Victor Mine, located in Teller County, Colorado.
- The Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) Mine site is located at elevations ranging from approximately 9,400 ft. to 10,600 ft. above sea level. Workers in this position are routinely exposed to conditions at various work sites throughout this range of elevations and must be physically capable of working at this altitude.
- Weather conditions can and do change frequently and can become severe at times.
