Pedestrian Traffic Management, LLC (SSPTMS) provides unique traffic management programs and skilled personnel to suit the needs of our clients. Industries we serve include airports, cranes and construction, event venues, neighborhood and community organizations, distribution centers, and schools.

We are seeking Traffic Managers to direct pedestrian and vehicle traffic outside the Amazon Fresh Fulfillment Center (UNJ-2) in Avenel, NJ.

Traffic Manager Job Description:

• Understand and apply safe traffic control practices.
• Actively manage and ensure the continuous flow of traffic.
• Engage in customer service; receive and communicate directions, instructions, and information about activity in the area clearly and courteously.
• Continually monitor traffic and weather conditions and report operational impact to supervision.
• Maintain free-flowing lanes of traffic where needed.
• Keep pedestrian crosswalks clear of stopped or standing vehicles.
• Prevent the “staging” of vehicles in unauthorized areas; direct any stopped or standing vehicle to leave the area without escalating conflict or confrontation.
• Uphold the policies and standards of SSPTMS and our client(s).

Traffic Manager Job Requirements:

• You must be punctual and reliable.
• You must be able to work outside and in all weather conditions including wind, rain, and snow.
• You must be able to stand and walk for as long as your assignment requires.
• Strong communication skills, including but not limited to radio communication skills, are required.
• You must have a happy, caring, and positive attitude - customer service is important!
• You must be able to manage stressful situations, like addressing uncooperative individuals and attempting to de-escalate conflict or confrontation, while keeping a safe environment and professional attitude and demeanor.
• You must complete all certification and training requirements.
• You must have a smartphone with cellular service.
• You must be trustworthy and ensure confidentiality when necessary.

Job Schedule:

- 4am x 1pm - 2 spots

- 1pm x 9pm - 2 spots

*Schedules are made in accordance with our business needs and the client’s demands. Hours are not guaranteed and are subject to change

Certifications and Experience Required:

• 4-hr Flagger certification (Required for Hire).
• At least 1 year of flagging, traffic enforcement, security, or other safety related experience is strongly preferred.

Job Benefits:

· Compensation: work at Amazon UNJ-2 is compensated at$20.00 per hour.

Uniform:

• You must keep a clean and professional appearance, abiding by all uniform and appearance guidelines.
• We supply your hat, vest, radio, lighted baton, and other items for use in extreme weather conditions.
• You must provide your own blue t-shirts, pants, and footwear in accordance with our uniform and appearance guidelines.
