Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software components, focusing on system security and process efficiency.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement regular system backups to ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with network engineers to optimize IT infrastructure, and provide technical support and guidance to users.
- Plan and implement security patching activities for Linux server platforms, ensuring compliance and documentation of system changes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 5-7 years relevant experience (IT infrastructure support, application support, cloud computing, disaster/recovery) or 6-9 years relevant work experience.
- Expertise in Unix system administration, including Red Hat Linux (Enterprise, all versions), Oracle Linux; experience with clustering and automation required.
- Ability to create original scripts/programs for system administration within at least one language: Bourne shell, Perl, Python, or Java; prior experience in Ansible playbooks and Red Hat PCS clustering.
- Participation in 24/7 on-call rotation, with the ability to work extended hours or modified schedules for planned or emergency work as required.
