Design Engineer II (Contract – 12 Months)
📍 Location: Bethel, CT (Onsite)
🕗 Schedule: 8 hours/day starting at 8:00 AM (Monday–Friday)
📄 Contract: 12 months (potential for extension)
⏱ Overtime: Not required
🏢 Work Model: Onsite only (after ~6 months, a hybrid schedule may be discussed; no remote)
We’re seeking a Design Engineer II to support the design and development of new products and systems in a collaborative engineering environment. This role is ideal for a mid-level engineer who enjoys hands-on design work, analysis, and working closely with manufacturing and quality teams to bring products from concept through production.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and support the design and development of new products or systems from concept to production
- Create detailed CAD models and drawings for components and assemblies
- Perform engineering analysis, including FEA, tolerance analysis, and simulations
- Collaborate with product management, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure design requirements are met
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians
- Troubleshoot and resolve design issues through iterative testing and analysis
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to design quality and manufacturability
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 3–6 years of experience in product design, engineering, or a similar role
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or equivalent)
- Solid understanding of engineering principles and design fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with engineering analysis tools and techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field
- Experience with PLM systems
- Familiarity with DFM/DFA principles
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
- Experience with rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing
