Join SSFM's Civil Transportation Team and help deliver innovative, community-centered infrastructure across the islands. We're seeking a Civil Design Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is ready to make a real impact on complete streets and multimodal projects.
What You'll Do- Support Civil 3D and AutoCAD design for complete streets, roadway, and transportation projects
- Review, develop, and coordinate detailed plan sets, specifications, and cost estimates
- Collaborate with project teams and the Traffic Group to ensure quality and timely delivery
- Attend client meetings, communicate technical solutions, and support contract administration
- Visit project sites as needed to monitor progress and serve as an on-site representative
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (accredited university)
- 3-4 years of civil engineering experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Word, Excel, Project
- Strong communication, organization, and deadline-driven mindset
- Valid driver's license with clean abstract
- Ability to uphold strict ethical standards and pass reference, background, and motor vehicle checks
Preferred:
- Experience with Civil 3D
- Transportation/Roadway design background
- Experience mentoring junior engineers
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
- Work on projects that directly shape Hawaii's communities and mobility
