THE OPPORTUNITY
Aunt Sally’s Pralines is a renowned, iconic New Orleans based retail, wholesale, online and corporate sales company founded in 1935 and still family owned today.
We are seeking a strong, positive leader to consistently maintain and improve quality, increase capacity, maintain the highest standards in food and company safety, and reduce waste and downtime in leading production, packaging, assembly, warehouse and shipping operations.
This position reports to the CEO.
ABOUT AUNT SALLY'S PRALINES
Aunt Sally's Pralines is a family-owned company specializing in delicious French, New Orleans-style Pralines. Our famous pralines are created from a short list of quality ingredients, starring Louisiana pecans, Louisiana cane sugar, milk, and butter, and cooked by hand over open flame in large, bowl-shaped copper pots.
As praline makers of our beloved family recipe for nearly a century, we have made life sweeter for people across the globe.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the food production supply chain (the ordering of supplies), overseeing their quality and cost.
- Schedule daily and weekly production to meet current and projected needs.
- Manage, direct, train and motivate the managers and staff of our commercial kitchen (ensuring adherence to recipes and procedures) to consistently improve quality, and our wrap room, assembly, warehouse and shipping to improve efficiency, accuracy and the reduction of waste.
- Oversee, audit, revise, and execute GMP’s, SSOP’s, SOP’s, pest management, and food safety plans.
- Liaise, as needed, with government and regulatory agencies, inspectors, and auditors. Represent Aunt Sally’s on technical and food safety issues.
- Ensure that wrapping room procedures are safe and efficient, properly documented, and that equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
- Find ways to continually improve the efficiency and quality of the assembly team to increase capacity while eliminating mistakes.
- Oversee the food and dry goods warehouse organization and be a leader in inventory management.
- Work well with the CEO in a collaborative manner in the areas managed by this position and on research and development of new products and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree.
- 4 years of professional experience as a manager of people and processes.
- 2 years of experience in a QA role in the food industry (food manufacturing and processing preferred).
- Experience in all aspects of food safety.
- SQF Practitioner with HACCP certification. Certifications required to have or retain within 90 days of employment: PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual), HACCP, Internal Auditing Certification.
- Ability to work with a diverse workforce.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Starting salary will be based on the qualifications of the applicant.
The compensation package includes a matching Simple IRA, paid time off, health insurance, parking and an employee discount.
