Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced IBM MQ & Confluent Kafka Administrator to join the Consumer Small Business & Wealth (CBWT) Messaging Team. The selected candidate will support Kafka, IIS, and IBM MQ initiatives, including platform administration, SSL/TLS configuration, troubleshooting, and production support activities.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, administer, and upgrade IBM MQ and Confluent Kafka environments.
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot SSL/TLS configurations for Kafka and MQ platforms.
- Manage and support IBM MQ queue managers, clusters, channels, and messaging infrastructure.
- Provide production and test environment support, ensuring platform stability and performance.
- Monitor messaging platforms using observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Troubleshoot messaging, connectivity, security, and performance-related issues.
- Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, and security teams on messaging solutions and enhancements.
Required Skills:
- 5 years of IBM MQ Administration experience.
- 3 years of Confluent Kafka Administration experience.
- Strong experience with IBM MQ clustering.
- Hands-on experience with MQ SSL/TLS certificates and security configurations.
- Experience installing, configuring, and upgrading IBM MQ and Confluent Kafka.
- Knowledge of IIS and messaging platform integrations.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.
