Therapeutic Medical Physicist
Location: Texas
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Shift: Day Shift (weekends may be required)
Salary Range: $175,000 – $270,000 per year (based on skills and interview)
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and qualified Therapeutic Medical Physicist to join a dynamic radiation oncology team in Texas. Key Responsibilities
- Perform, evaluate, and manage scheduled quality assurance testing of treatment machines and systems (linear accelerators, brachytherapy, CT simulators, treatment planning systems).
- Supervise and perform radiation treatments that require a therapeutic medical physicist.
- Carry out and review computer-aided treatment planning and calculations for external beam and brachytherapy.
- Conduct patient-related dosimetric measurements to ensure treatment quality.
- Provide consultation to radiation oncologists, staff, and patients when requested.
- Participate in acceptance testing and commissioning of new treatment modalities.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Maintain licensure and continuing education as required for the role.
Qualifications
- Education: Master of Science or Doctor of Medical Physics (DMP) in Medical Physics
- Licensure: Licensed or temporarily licensed by the State of Texas as a Medical Physicist (LMP)
- Experience: Less than 1 year of clinical experience required (new graduates welcome)
- Strong understanding of radiation oncology clinical workflow and ability to work independently
- Knowledge of treatment machines, QA processes, detectors, and dosimetric measurement techniques
- Strong communication skills, professional demeanor, and commitment to patient care
