Therapeutic Medical Physicist I
Department: Radiation Oncology
Schedule: Full-Time | May require occasional weekend coverage
Job Summary
The Therapeutic Medical Physicist I plays a key role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy treatments. Working under the direction of the Director of Medical Physics, this position supports patient care by maintaining quality assurance standards, supervising radiation treatments, and consulting with physicians and clinical staff to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes.
Essential Functions
- Perform and manage routine quality assurance testing of radiation therapy machines and systems, including linear accelerators, brachytherapy, CT simulators, and treatment planning systems.
- Supervise and perform radiation treatments requiring the direct presence of a medical physicist.
- Conduct and evaluate computer-aided treatment planning and calculations for external beam and brachytherapy procedures.
- Perform dosimetric measurements to verify and ensure treatment quality.
- Provide consultation to radiation oncologists, clinical staff, and patients as requested.
- Participate in acceptance testing, commissioning, and implementation of new treatment technologies.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for radiation oncology.
- Maintain continuing education, licensure, and certification requirements for professional practice.

Qualifications
- Education: Master of Science or Doctor of Medical Physics (DMP) in Medical Physics
- Experience: <1 year (new graduates are encouraged to apply)
- Licensure/Certification:
- Licensed or temporarily licensed as a Medical Physicist by the State of Texas
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $175,000.00 - $270,000.00 per year
