Job Description
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and evaluating products, creating bills of materials, and troubleshooting manufacturing issues. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve designs and processes while maintaining cost efficiency and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative mechanical designs with a focus on customer requirements.
- Create drawings, bills of materials, and project documentation.
- Assist with quoting, including scope of work development.
- Provide technical support to the sales team.
- Evaluate product designs for material selection, cost, and reliability.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure product manufacturability and troubleshoot issues.
- Conduct field tests and contribute to process improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) preferred.
- 2 years of experience in mechanical design and project management.
- Design for manufacturability experience, including sheet metal and structural fabrication, welding, and manufacturing techniques.
- Experience with electrical motors, controls, pneumatics, and hydraulics is a plus.
- Proficiency with CAD systems such as SolidWorks or Inventor.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
