Job Summary
To coordinate with golf shop staff and superintendent. Rangers may also work as Starters or other positions as necessary. Assures that guests have enjoyable round of golf, that all groups do their best to keep pace with the group in front, and that all players observe good golf etiquette and obey the rules set forth for play. The ranger has one of the most difficult positions in the golf operation. Directing the flow of traffic, enforcing the course rules and regulations, instructing players in the code of etiquette, oversees the golf course grounds and assisting players with any on-course problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Demonstrates the “Golden Rule” of treating others the way we wish to be treated in all actions and communications.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Company standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the resort.
- Comply at all times with resort standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Keep course clean and call attention to golf shop of any maintenance issues needing addressing.
- Tour course in ranger car; maintaining flow of play by assisting players where necessary.
- Ensures that practice range is open and ready for players.
- Receives and responds to complaints from golfers.
- Operates a motor vehicle.
- Enforces established rules of course among golfers such as out of bound areas, cart regulations, wearing of proper clothing and practicing at designated sites.
- Works closely with Pro Shop staff to prepare for and conduct golf tournaments.
- Knowledge of tournament schedule.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Qualifications

- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Prior customer service experience preferred
- Prior experience working at a golf course with knowledge of the rules of golf preferred
- Experience working in a hotel, clubhouse, or related field preferred
Additional Eligibility Requirements

- Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes random testing.
- Must submit to and pass a level 2 background screening
Work Environment

- Required to stand/walk/sit regularly and occasionally for prolonged periods of time
- Must have stamina to work more than the scheduled workday when needed, including nights and weekends.
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
