Engineering Manager - Systems Aerospace Tech
Location: Washington | Salary: $180K - $210K DOE
Our client is a leading developer of Aerospace systems that support defense, intelligence, and research missions. They deliver advanced platforms and mission-critical systems that push the boundaries of autonomous and remote sensing technology.
They are seeking a Systems Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team of engineers responsible for designing, building, testing, and delivering next-generation spacecraft systems. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will guide the technical direction, ensure program success, and mentor engineers across multiple disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a systems engineering team
- Oversee projects from concept through delivery, ensuring technical excellence and program alignment
- Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and program management teams
- Support proposal development, technical reviews, and new business opportunities
- Drive process improvements, operational efficiency, and innovation
- Manage team performance, career development, workload, and resource planning
- Ensure compliance with security standards, regulations, and company policies
Qualifications:
- STEM degree
- 8 years managing technical personnel
- 4 years project management and systems engineering experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with complex technical programs is a plus
