Location: Onsite (Houston, Texas, with ~30-40% travel domestically and internationally for APQP milestone reviews, supplier/system audits, and customer meetings)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Operation Director
Position Summary
The Quality Manager at Ace Engineering leads the quality management system that governs new product introduction and ongoing manufacturing for ESS (Energy Storage System) enclosures and specialized container solutions. This role owns Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) strategy and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) governance across the product lifecycle, chairs cross-functional quality system meetings, and leads the quality engineering team responsible for executing them. Leveraging Ace Engineering’s extensive engineering expertise and accumulated field data—built from over 30,000 units supplied and 30GWh of ESS projects delivered—the Quality Manager ensures that quality planning, risk analysis, and control documentation are in place before products reach the field, and that products perform reliably under diverse environmental conditions, including seismic activity, extreme weather, and high thermal loads. Familiarity with metal enclosure surface-finishing processes, such as plating and coating, is a strong plus given the plated/painted metal enclosures central to Ace Engineering’s product line.

- Represent quality at the leadership level in cross-functional program meetings
- Own NCR/CAPA processes, leading root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Set quality standards for enclosure fabrication, welding, painting, and metal surface finishing, including plating/coating
- Lead supplier quality strategy: PPAP and FMEA review, qualification, audits, and performance monitoring

- Lead ISO 9001 and customer audits, keeping APQP/FMEA/control plan documentation audit-ready
- Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and RCA initiatives to improve reliability and reduce variation
- Serve as the primary escalation point for critical customer quality issues
