In 2024, SR1 Scientific Research was named one of only 13 organizations in the nation as a Champion of the U.S. Department of Education's Engage Every Student Recognition Program — presented by U.S. Secretary of Education Dr. Miguel Cardona in Washington, D.C.

That's the standard we're hiring against.

SR1 is hiring K–12 and Adult & Family Learning Educators across central Mississippi.

Cradle to career is not a slogan. It is a realistic.

Most programs pick an age and stay there. SR1 does not. We meet a learner at the beginning and stay with them all the way to a career — and we do the same for the adults in that learner's household. A kindergartner's reading gain is fragile if no adult at home can build on it. A high school junior's test score means less if nobody in the family has ever walked a college campus. So we teach the child and the household, in the same year, toward the same outcome.

Three tracks — you may work in more than one:

🧒 Elementary scholars (K–5) — small-group literacy and STEM, including at SR1 College Preparatory & STEM Academy in Canton, where 88% of 3rd graders passed the Mississippi ELA reading assessment on the first attempt and we hold the highest 3rd grade reading scores of any charter school in the state

🎒 Middle and high school students (6–12) — STEM, coding and robotics, college prep coursework, ACT and college-readiness support, career exposure, and the college-going knowledge that turns ambition into an actual application

👩 🎓 Adults and families — adult literacy, digital and STEM literacy, workforce and career skills, and college-going knowledge for parents, guardians, and community members, taught during school hours and online

What you'll do:

🎯 Teach to SR1 standards — above the state floor, college preparatory and STEM-themed by design, kindergarten through adult

💡 Innovate, don't recycle the school day

🙌 Teach adults with the same rigor you bring to children — adults aren't an easier audience, they're a different one, and often a more nervous one

📊 Look at the data to see what's working, and change what isn't

🔗 Connect the generations — where you teach a scholar and that scholar's family member, make the two say the same thing

💻 Teach well through a screen — some programming is delivered online

Who we especially want to hear from — this role is deliberately open from college students without certification all the way to certified teachers, newly retired educators, and college professors:

✅ Certified and current teachers, elementary through high school

✅ Newly retired educators who still have their best teaching in them

✅ College and university professors who want to reach learners long before they arrive on a campus

✅ Community college faculty, adult educators, GED and workforce instructors

✅ ACT and college-readiness instructors, counselors, and college advisers

✅ STEM professionals, engineers, and technicians

✅ Digital literacy and workforce trainers who can take an adult from hesitant to capable

✅ College students and career-changers — we'll support your certification pathway

Certification is preferred, not required. What you're called matters less to us than what you can do in front of a learner.

Summer 2027 is already being built, in partnership with universities and learning institutions across the region. Educators hired this year get first consideration for summer curriculum design and instructional leadership roles.

Fair warning: we are highly selective. The community we serve has been handed "good enough" too many times, and we're not going to be one more example of it.

Schedule: adult and family learning during school hours; K–12 programming in afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays depending on site and age group; some classes online. Hourly, competitive rate based on certification, credentials, and experience — certified teachers, retired educators, and professors are compensated at the top of the scale.
