IP Operations Manager
Location: Hybrid – 3 days in an NYC office

About the Role
The IP Operations Manager will lead operational initiatives and support the growth of the Intellectual Property practice at a top national law firm. This leadership role will work closely with department heads and firm leadership to optimize performance, enhance client service delivery, and drive business development efforts. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of IP law firm operations, financial management, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations of the IP department, including financial oversight, staffing, and process optimization.
- Partner with department leadership to plan and facilitate strategic meetings focused on performance, growth, and collaboration.
- Support the development and execution of business and marketing strategies for practice groups.
- Manage intake and approval processes for new matters, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding procedures for attorneys and staff.
- Monitor department financials, including budget tracking, expense management, and collections.
- Supervise docketing teams and implement improvements in workflow and systems.
- Ensure paraprofessionals receive consistent training, supervision, and engagement.
- Coordinate department-wide meetings and events, including financial updates and professional development sessions.
- Conduct office visits to engage with local teams and support business development efforts.
- Collaborate with office leadership on staffing, recruiting, and productivity initiatives.
- Work with marketing and business development teams to align goals and budgets.
- Stay current on legal tech and AI trends, integrating tools to improve efficiency and client outcomes.
- Partner with pricing teams to develop client fee arrangements and profitability strategies.
- Coordinate with HR and attorney development teams on compensation, training, and career advancement.
- Participate in recruiting and integration efforts for new hires and lateral attorneys.

Salary : $170,000 - $190,000
