Position Summary:
This position is responsible for machinal uptime of the lines and equipment, in the Department of Maintenance The duties outlined in this Job Description are expected to be completed in a professional, safe and quality minded manner, and per all Company Policies, Procedures and additional expectations as outlined by position Supervisor.
Major Job Responsibilities:
The Shift Maintenance Technician will:
- Perform job duties in compliance with site safety rules and notify appropriate management of any safety hazards, with the intent of supporting an injury-free work environment.
- Support the company’s quality and safety initiatives
- Abide by job related procedures, work instructions and other guidelines designed to help ensure the quality of the finished product.
- Be responsible for troubleshooting and solving problems during production times to maintain uptime on the production line, both electrical and mechanical issues.
- Be able to read schematics and blueprints to assist in troubleshooting
- Monitor the plant electrical and mechanical systems and subsystems
- Repair company assets
- Perform routine preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment
- Analyze and minimize potential issues and implement improvements as they are assigned
- Respond to the needs of assigned shift group leaders and understand importance of using sound judgment
- Communicate information between other shift personnel regarding solutions and areas of potential interest
- Keep maintenance areas clean, neat and organized
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager

Job Specific Requirements:
Physicality:
- Occasionally lift, push, pull items 50 – 100 lbs.
- Routinely lift, push, pull items up to 50 lbs.
- Stand/Walk for 8 – 12 hours per shift
Education / Skills:
- High school diploma or GED, with a two-year degree in electrical or mechanical technologies.
- Five years of multi-craft experience in the maintenance field with experience in a continuous process manufacturing facility.
- Knowledge of automated control systems
- Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English.
- Manufacturing Experience
- Forklift or other equipment experience
- Communication Skills
- Computer Skills
- Ability to work with others and in team environment, or as an individual
