Spuncast, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a dedicated Saw Operator - Foundry Support to join our team on 1st shift (4:00am to 12:00pm, Monday through Friday). In this role, you will play a key part in our manufacturing process by ensuring castings are accurately cut, inspected, and documented to meet our high-quality standards. This is a hands-on position in a dynamic foundry environment, offering the opportunity to work independently and as part of a supportive team. Spuncast stands out by offering employee ownership, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for growth and advancement.ResponsibilitiesVerify castings to be cut by material type, heat number, and ID/OD size to match specifications.Measure and cut castings according to job card requirements.Inspect castings and perform pressure tests as specified.Accurately record documentation, including cast, lot, and heat treat numbers.Monitor dust collector and report any issues to maintenance.Perform light maintenance on saws and maintain a clean work area.Operate all saws and equipment safely and efficiently.Transact production data through Odyssey system.Work independently and collaborate with other departments as needed.Maintain reliable attendance and adhere to safety protocols.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and participate in team activities.Perform other related duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Factory or manufacturing experience preferred.Ability to learn safe operation of all saws in the department.Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform light equipment maintenance.Ability to obtain forklift certification (training provided).Solid math, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift/move up to 70 pounds with lifting apparatus.Comfortable working in temperature extremes, with exposure to repetitive motion and vibration.Ability to use required personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection).Compensation$20.05 per hour starting wage.
