Overnight Nurse

St. Paul's seeks a registered nurse in our health center for our overnight shift (10:30 pm to 7:30 am). This position is full time (full time is equivalent to 3 nights one week, 4 nights the next week, per 2 week pay period including every other weekend), and will include attendance at a monthly, 2 hour staff meeting.  This is an academic-year, non-exempt staff position. The position pays a competitive hourly wage including a $10/hour shift differential. 

The registered nurse provides quality nursing care to St. Paul's School students in both an outpatient and inpatient setting. As a Registered Nurse at St. Paul’s School, you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional, student-centered care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. This dynamic 10 month (summers off) night position offers a meaningful opportunity to support the health and well-being of students through a variety of responsibilities, including:

• Performing thorough physical assessments and triaging students during the shift.
• Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, including our Medical Director, Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Coordinator, and Counselors.
• Communicating effectively with parents and maintaining detailed documentation in our electronic medical record system.
• Assisting with pre- and post-operative care, and the implementation of nursing protocols and treatment plans.
• Administering medications and vaccines, collecting diagnostic specimens, and promoting preventive health through education.
• Ensuring the safe handling, administration, and storage of all medications.
• Administrative duties including daily medication reconciliation, scanning, and restocking.

 Education, Training, and Experience: Must be currently licensed as a RN in the state of New Hampshire. Experience with adolescents or school nursing is a plus. CPR certification must be current.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None

Language Skills:  Good oral and written communication skills.

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Skills:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) in the state of New Hampshire and have CPR certification current.
