Housekeeper / Room Attendant

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Lynchburg Airport/University Area is currently seeking a full-time Public Area Attendant to join our team. This position is responsible for providing guests with the highest level of service in a clean, safe, and pleasant environment.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeper/Room Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will help provide guests with a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment by maintaining guest rooms and common areas to the highest standards. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, friendly, and committed to delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service assigned guest rooms according to company standards, including making beds, changing linens, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, and replenishing amenities.
• Clean and maintain assigned public areas and common spaces.
• Report maintenance issues, damaged items, or safety hazards to management promptly.
• Restock housekeeping carts and supplies at the end of each shift.
• Empty vacuums, dispose of trash, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Turn in all lost and found items immediately following company procedures.
• Keep storage rooms and linen closets clean, organized, and secured.
• Complete required housekeeping documentation, including linen reports and room status updates.
• Notify the front desk promptly when rooms are cleaned and ready for occupancy.
• Inspect furniture, fixtures, and equipment for cleanliness and proper condition, reporting any concerns to management.
• Maintain security of assigned room keys at all times and follow all key control procedures.
• Follow all hotel safety, security, and cleanliness standards.
• Greet guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
• Maintain guest privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Housekeeper or Manager.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or hotel experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable, punctual, and reliable attendance.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and company policies.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb stairs throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds independently.
• Ability to request assistance for lifting or moving items over 25 pounds.
• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule

• Must report to work on time, in the required uniform, and ready to begin each scheduled shift.
• Employees are required to clock in and out as scheduled, including a mandatory 30-minute unpaid meal break.
• Weekend and holiday availability may be required.
