The Phlebotomist is responsible for performing venipuncture and specimen collection procedures in an OB Women's Health clinical setting. This role ensures accurate labeling, handling, and processing of specimens while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality. The Phlebotomist works closely with clinical staff to support diagnostic testing and overall patient care.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required .
Education Requirements:
- Candidate must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
Certification:
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Experience:
- Prior phlebotomy experience preferred, especially in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Experience working in women's health or OB settings preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in venipuncture and capillary specimen collection techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen handling and documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Basic computer skills and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
- Knowledge of infection prevention, safety standards, and laboratory protocols.
