Asphalt Sealcoating Crew Member

Springfield Striping & Sealing is hiring dependable crew members for our Asphalt Sealcoating Division.

Starting pay will be determined by the applicant’s previous experience, including sealcoating, crack filling, asphalt maintenance, commercial driving, and similar outdoor work.

Previous sealcoating experience is not required. We are willing to train dependable applicants who are ready to work, follow instructions, and take pride in producing clean, professional results.

Quality workmanship is extremely important to our company. Our crews are expected to properly clean and prepare each surface, apply materials evenly, create clean edges, protect surrounding concrete and property, and leave every jobsite looking neat and professional. We are looking for employees who pay attention to details and care about the finished product, not just getting the job done quickly.

Job responsibilities include:

• Applying commercial asphalt sealcoat evenly and consistently
• Operating sealcoating spray equipment, hand wands, and related equipment
• Hand edging around curbs, sidewalks, buildings, islands, and other surfaces
• Producing clean, straight edges without overspray
• Protecting concrete, curbs, vehicles, landscaping, buildings, and surrounding property
• Cleaning and preparing parking lots before sealcoat application
• Removing dirt, loose material, vegetation, and debris from pavement
• Filling asphalt cracks with hot-pour crack sealant
• Following proper material-mixing and application procedures
• Watching for thin coverage, tracking, overspray, missed areas, and other workmanship issues
• Operating blowers, brooms, squeegees, and other tools
• Loading and unloading materials, equipment, and supplies
• Cleaning and maintaining sealcoating equipment, trucks, and tools
• Keeping jobsites organized and cleaning up after work is completed

• Understands that clean edges, even coverage, and proper preparation are essential

• Is dependable and arrives ready to work

Job requirements:

• Must have reliable transportation to and from our Springfield office
• Must be able to perform physical labor and work outdoors in hot weather
• Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment
• Must be available for overtime and occasional night, weekend, or out-of-town work
• Must have a clean driving record
• A Missouri Class E driver’s license or CDL is not required, but is strongly encouraged
• Driving qualifications and relevant licenses will be considered when determining starting pay
• Must be able to pass required drug and alcohol testing
