Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach

Position Summary The Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach is responsible for leading and managing some aspects of the varsity basketball program. The coach will foster student-athlete development by emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, skill development, and academic success while ensuring compliance with school, league, and state athletic regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities  Plan and conduct practices that develop individual and team skills.  Coach and supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities.  Promote good sportsmanship, leadership, and positive character.  Maintain effective communication with student-athletes, parents, school administration, and the athletic department.  Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes.  Monitor student-athlete eligibility and academic progress.  Supervise team personnel as assigned.  Maintain and inventory program equipment and uniforms.  Follow all school, conference, and MIAA rules, policies, and procedures.  Perform other coaching-related duties as assigned by the Head coach/Athletic Director.
