Job Summary
The 1st Shift Production Foreman leads daily production operations across powder coating, zinc coating, and inline acid pickling processes. This role supervises production teams, ensures safety and quality compliance, drives throughput, and coordinates with Maintenance, Quality, and Shipping/Receiving to meet customer and schedule requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise and coordinate hourly production employees across coating and pickling operations.
· Execute the daily production schedule; ensure staffing, line readiness, and on-time delivery.
· Enforce safety policies (PPE, chemical handling, lockout/tagout, confined space as applicable) and drive a strong safety culture.
· Monitor and control critical process parameters (pretreatment, pickling chemistry, rinse stages, drying/curing, coating thickness, adhesion, appearance).
· Conduct shift startup checks: line condition, chemical levels, bath titrations/logs, temperature settings, equipment status, and housekeeping.
· Ensure product quality: verify specifications, conduct/coordinate inspections, address nonconformances, and implement corrective actions.
· Coordinate with Maintenance on work orders, breakdowns, preventative maintenance scheduling, and equipment reliability.
· Train, coach, and develop team; manage performance, attendance, and discipline per company policy.
· Support shipping/receiving flow and material staging to prevent line disruptions.
Required Qualifications
· 2 years of supervisory/lead experience in a manufacturing environment (metal finishing/coating preferred).
· Working knowledge of powder coating and/or zinc coating operations; familiarity with pretreatment and acid pickling systems strongly preferred.
· Ability to read work orders/specs and use measurement tools
· Basic computer skills
· Strong communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
· Forklift (or ability to become certified).
Physical/Work Environment
· Industrial environment with exposure to heat, noise, chemicals, and dust (PPE required).
· Ability to stand/walk for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs; unassisted operate around moving equipment in small spaces.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
