Summary/Objective:
Under the general direction of the Program Manager and the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) policy guidance, the Foster Grandparent Volunteer Coordinator has the responsibility of coordinating project activities related to the Foster Grandparent Program (FGP). The Volunteer Coordinator’s responsibilities include:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Coordinate and monitor project activities including recruitment, in-service training, supervisory arrangements, and other activities in cooperation with the Foster Grandparent Program Manager and appropriate volunteer host site staff.
· Coordinate Foster Grandparent Program assignments including assisting volunteer host site staff with developing volunteer assignment plans and activities and monitoring progress towards achieving goals and expected outcomes specified in the assignment plans.
· Ensure that all volunteers receive a monthly stipend for hours served in accordance with defined policies, which requires tracking and ensuring payments are processed correctly.
· Enhance the total project effort through active involvement with community organizations, other national service programs, and other senior and volunteer programs.
· Provide information and support to FGP volunteers.
· Assess the performance and suitability of volunteer stations to ensure they align with the program’s goals.
· Attend training and conferences authorized by CNCS, as funding allows.
· Answer phones and greet clients and visitors.
· Handle filing confidential documents.
· Perform general administrative duties, as assigned.
· Assist with other clerical duties, such as organizing paperwork, scheduling, and maintaining records.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Required Education and Experience:
· High School diploma.
· Proficiency in use of computers, printers, fax machines and electronic medical records.
· Good customer service skills and the ability to interact with clients, staff, management, as well as the general public.
