Job Summary
Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medication Aide (CMA) working weekends from early morning to early afternoon, providing compassionate and comprehensive care to our residents. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, medication administration, and supporting residents’ daily needs with enthusiasm and professionalism. Duties
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols
- Monitor and record vital signs, medical documentation, and patient progress using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems such as Alis
- Provide direct patient care in assisted living, ensuring safety and comfort for residents with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or memory care needs
- Assist residents with medication administration
- Support residents experiencing hospice or palliative care needs by offering compassionate emotional support alongside medical assistance
- Perform catheter care, wound management, and other specialized nursing tasks with precision and adherence to NJ regulations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans based on physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and medical terminology
Qualifications
- Valid LPN license or CMA certification with current registration in good standing
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home & community care settings preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, medication administration procedures, and HIPAA compliance
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general is a plus
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, tube feeding techniques, catheter care, and dementia-specific care practices
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with a positive attitude and strong communication abilities
