Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples using venipuncture and other phlebotomy techniques, ensuring minimal discomfort for patients.
- Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory analysis, adhering to proper handling protocols.
- Perform vital signs measurements and assess patient condition prior to specimen collection.
- Maintain aseptic technique during all procedures to prevent contamination and ensure safety.
- Process specimens efficiently, including centrifugation, storage, and transportation to the laboratory.
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and maintaining a compassionate approach.
- Document all procedures accurately within electronic health records or laboratory information systems.
- Follow established laboratory procedures, safety guidelines, and infection control protocols consistently.
Requirements
- Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory settings.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to blood sampling and specimen collection.
- Certification or training in phlebotomy or related laboratory techniques is preferred.
- Strong understanding of venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen processing methods.
- Experience working in hospital or healthcare environments is advantageous.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Familiarity with hospital safety standards, aseptic technique, and infection control practices.
