About the Role
At Spring Haven, our servers are more than meal runners — they are friendly, caring ambassadors who help make dining a highlight of each day for our residents. We are seeking a warm, reliable, and service‑minded individual who loves working with seniors and is committed to providing caring and compassionate service to every resident we serve.
Important: This is a non‑tipped position. Compensation is provided through an hourly wage. Gratuities are not accepted.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide kind, respectful, and compassionate service to all residents during meals.
- Greet residents and guests warmly and create a welcoming dining experience.
- Take accurate meal orders, including special requests and diet modifications.
- Serve meals and beverages promptly and correctly.
- Work closely with the culinary and wellness teams to ensure compliance with dietary needs, allergies, and physician-ordered restrictions.
- Assist residents as needed while promoting dignity, independence, and comfort.
- Set up, clean, and reset dining areas before and after meals.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Follow proper food handling, infection control, and safety procedures.
- Support special dining events, holidays, and community celebrations.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with residents, families, and team members.
- Respond promptly and compassionately to resident needs and concerns.
Required
- A genuine love for seniors and a desire to provide caring, compassionate, and patient service.
- Strong customer service skills with a positive, team-focused attitude.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance and behavior.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25–30 pounds.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and respectful environment.
Preferred
- Previous experience as a server in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality.
- Knowledge of or experience with special diets and food allergies.
- Food Handler or ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain).
