What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory & Asset Traceability Specialist (Technical Hardware) position at ServerPartDeals.com (a Server Tech Solutions company)?
The Role
We're hiring someone to own the accuracy of our inventory data from the moment hardware arrives to the moment it's graded and sellable. This isn't box-counting — you'll track serialized technology assets through a multi-stage pipeline (PO → receiving → testing → grading → SKU), and your accuracy directly determines inventory valuation and what we're able to sell. If you like puzzles with clear right answers and hate sloppy data, this role is built for you.
What You'll Do
- Receive and verify inbound serialized hardware against purchase orders
- Maintain 1:1 serial-level traceability from arrival through final grading
- Reconcile post-testing yields (Grade A/B/C) against original manifests
- Flag and escalate shortages, overages, mis-grades, and vendor discrepancies
- Coordinate daily with Testing and Purchasing to prioritize inbound flow
- Log and update inventory state in Finale Inventory / ShipStation
- Apply labeling and serial tracking correctly at every state change
- Support RMAs, warranty claims, and vendor returns
What You Bring
- 3 years in inventory control, receiving, or warehouse operations
- Comfort with serialized/technical products — this is non-negotiable
- Ability to think in relational logic: serial → PO → SKU → grade
- Experience working cross-functionally with Testing/QA and Purchasing
- WMS/ERP experience (Finale, ShipStation, NetSuite, or similar) a strong plus
- Highly organized, low-ego, comfortable owning mistakes and fixing them fast
Nice to Have
- Background in IT/enterprise hardware, electronics refurbishment, or ITAD
- Exposure to grading/QA workflows
- History resolving vendor discrepancy claims
Why It Matters
Every dollar of inventory value in this company traces back to whether receiving got it right. This role is the first — and most important — checkpoint in that chain.
