Quality Manager

Job Overview The Quality Manager for Sprecher Brewing Co.’s primary responsibility is to ensure that products maintain a high level of integrity and GMP’s are being followed. They will liaise with various departments throughout the brewery to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained at every level. The Quality Manager will ideally be a master brewer with experience working in a brewery and brewery lab. Essential Duties and responsibilitiesResponsible for overall quality of all Sprecher Brewing Co. products and packagingDaily testing and analysis of raw materials, in stage and final products to ensure proper specifications are met and of the highest qualityWork closely with brewing teams and communicate issuesEnsure compliance with food, ingredient and chemical safety and GMPsEnsure continuous improvement and find ways to increase efficiencyWork with 3rd party laboratories to organize and perform analysis of products as neededCreate and maintain a safety plan for Sprecher Brewing CompanyVery strong written and verbal communicationsHigh level computer skills and experience with quality assurance software packagesSelf-directed, personally motivated with strong attention to detailIncredibly organized and able to design systematic approaches for quality improvementAble to work to deadlines and prioritize workloadTeam player able to work well with others and contribute to a positive work environmentQualification and RequirementsStrong background in brewing, beverage or food manufacturing preferredExperience in Microbiology, Chemistry or a related field preferredDegree in Food Science a plusOver 2 years’ experience in a quality control or quality assurance role in the food and beverage industryExperience controlling brewing processes and assessing beverage qualityKnowledge of food production and manufacturing principlesManagement experience a plusPhysical RequirementsAbility to perform all essential functions and physical demands of the jobAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally 75 lbs.Ability to stand for long periods of time on concrete floors and ability to continuously be active including but not limited to: walking, stooping, bending, reaching and crouching.Work EnvironmentHeightened awareness of safety precautions and hazards for self and othersAble to work in a fast-paced environment, while focusing on meeting or exceeding expectations.Standard office hours, typical 9 to 5Indoor, climate-controlled workspaceBenefitsFull-Time Bonus EligibleHealth, Vision, Dental and Life Insurance401k and 401k MatchingPTOEmployee DiscountEO/AA Information:Sprecher brewing company is an equal opportunity/ Affirmative employer.
