In-Person | Scheduled Shifts Between 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
Spotted Zebra Learning Center is seeking a dependable, engaged, and caring Teacher Aide/Floater to support our classroom teams and help maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-structured learning environment for young children.
This role supports lead and assistant teachers with daily classroom routines, child supervision, transitions, activities, and individualized support — including for children with special needs. The Teacher Aide/Floater also provides coverage during staff breaks and absences and supports outdoor play and shared learning spaces.
What This Role Requires (Please Read Carefully)
This position is hands-on and active. Candidates must be able to:
- Remain engaged with children throughout the day
- Assist with transitions, routines, and self-help skills
- Provide calm behavioral and emotional support
- Maintain classroom safety and organization
- Move between classrooms as needed and reliably cover scheduled shifts
Work hours are scheduled within the 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. window, and consistent attendance is essential to supporting children and staff.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Genuine interest in early childhood education
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Ability to meet all NYS childcare and safety requirements, including background clearances
- Comfortable working with children of varying developmental needs
This role is a strong fit for someone pursuing (or considering) a degree in education, psychology, or a related field and looking for meaningful, hands-on experience in a preschool setting. Training and ongoing support are provided by experienced professionals.
