Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking two Human Resources Staffing Specialists to support the Division’s recruitment and hiring operations by coordinating the full-cycle staffing process from vacancy identification and recruitment outreach through candidate job offer acceptance. This position partners with school and division leadership to support strategic staffing efforts, recruitment initiatives, and workforce planning while ensuring an efficient, professional, and customer-focused candidate experience.
The Human Resources Staffing Specialist plays a critical role in helping the Division attract and hire qualified employees while ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and staffing guidelines. Positions will be split between elementary and secondary support.
Essential Job Functions:
- Leads and facilitates staffing meetings with school administrators and division leadership to identify staffing needs, review vacancies, monitor hiring progress, and support strategic workforce planning efforts.
- Coordinates with school and department leadership to monitor vacancy status, anticipated staffing needs, hiring timelines, and recruitment priorities throughout the staffing cycle.
- Creates, posts, and maintains employment vacancies through the Division’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS), external job boards, educator recruitment platforms, and partner university systems to ensure positions are advertised accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitors active job postings and collaborates with hiring administrators and Human Resources staff to ensure vacancy information, position requirements, and posting timelines remain current and aligned to staffing needs.
- Serves as a primary point of contact for applicants throughout the hiring process, providing timely communication regarding application status, hiring timelines, required documentation, and next steps.
- Serves on interview panels and participates in candidate screening and selection processes to support the identification of highly qualified employees aligned with division needs and expectations.
- Coordinates and proctors Administrator Pool Assessments and other division hiring assessments, ensuring consistency, professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to established procedures.
- Facilitates the job offer process by reviewing new hire approvals through the Division’s electronic Applicant Tracking System (ATS) as initiated by School Leadership Teams and/or Human Resources Teams.
- Prepares job offers by reviewing applicant data, transcripts, certifications, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with division policies and procedures.
- Validates and calculates years of relevant experience to determine proper salary step placement in accordance with established guidelines.
- Extends formal job offers to candidates, clearly communicating terms of employment and representing the Division with professionalism and integrity.
- Addresses candidate questions regarding job offers, employment conditions, salary placement, licensure, and onboarding expectations; escalates complex matters to Human Resources leadership as appropriate.
- Coordinates the transition of newly hired employees to onboarding and personnel support staff to ensure a seamless handoff following job offer acceptance.
- Serves as a recruitment lead by collaborating with Human Resources team members to develop, coordinate, and monitor recruitment strategies, hiring initiatives, and targeted outreach efforts.

Education and Experience:
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three (3) years of progressive experience within a Human Resources department, two (2) of which serving in a position directly supporting recruitment processes
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience in K–12 education, government, or public sector setting
- Experience directly supporting recruitment, hiring, onboarding, or personnel processes
- Experience utilizing applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, or related technologies
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification.

Employment Terms: Employment is offered as an 12-month (243 Day) contract, at a minimum of 7.5 hours worked daily. This position is evaluated annually.
