What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hourly Attendance Liaison - 26/27 SY position at Spotsylvania County Public Schools?
The Attendance Liaison will assist with a variety of duties related to attendance and student recording keeping, including the prevention and intervention of attendance issues. This role serves as a liaison between the school and parent/caregivers.
Essential Job Functions:
- Monitors attendance in order to provide reports to the Attendance Team.
- Attends and engages in mandatory, weekly attendance team meetings as scheduled by administration.
- Communicates directly with families of identified students through communication channels such as phone calls, emails, attendance letters, and in-person meetings.
- Assists the School Attendance Team in implementing Tier 1 schoolwide attendance initiatives designed to promote positive attendance habits and increase student engagement.
- Supports Tier 2 attendance interventions for identified students, including outreach, monitoring, and collaboration with families and school staff to address attendance concerns early.
- Assists the School Counselor and School Registrar with state reporting forms.
- Refers Tier 3 attendance concerns according to established procedures.

Education and Experience:
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two (2) years working within an office setting serving as an administrative assistant, receptionist or related role
Preferred
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field

Employment Terms: This position is classified as an as hourly support role. The schedule for this position will be considered part-time and structured on an hourly, as needed basis. This position is evaluated annually. This position is grant funded.
Compensation: The starting hourly rate for this position is $20.00 / hour. A starting rate of $30.00 will be awarded for hires who have achieved higher education such as an Associate's Degree and beyond.
