What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Spot On Talent?
We are helping a rapidly growing commercial landscaping and outdoor services company that partners with businesses and property owners to create and maintain beautiful, functional outdoor environments. They’ve built a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and long-term client relationships. The organization continues to grow and offers a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment. They are seeking a hands-on Controller who will serve as a key financial leader reporting directly to the COO. This position will be in Midlothian, Texas.
This role goes beyond traditional accounting leadership. The Controller will also own cash flow strategy, financial forecasting, capital planning, and banking relationships, helping build the financial infrastructure needed to support continued growth.
- Lead accounting operations and financial reporting
- Own cash flow forecasting and capital strategy
- Manage lender relationships, credit facilities, and borrowing base reporting
- Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy
- Lead and develop a strong accounting team
What we’re looking for:
- bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA preferred)
- 7 years of progressive experience, including 4 years in leadership
- Strong background in cash flow management, forecasting, and FP&A
- Experience with banking relationships, credit facilities, and covenant compliance
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
- Construction or project-based industry experience strongly preferred

Salary : $160,000 - $190,000
