The Role:
We’re seeking a Software Engineering lead to lead our engineering team and help scale our technology and processes. This is a high-impact role for a technically strong leader who can drive product delivery, establish engineering best practices, and guide a growing team toward organizational maturity.
Collaborating closely with the Head of Technology & Innovation, you will provide technical leadership and operational guidance, driving the team to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently. This role is suited for a strategic and adaptable leader who challenges the status quo and shapes the future of our technology.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of full-stack solutions (front-end, back-end, integrations, databases, queues, APIs).
- Transform product requirements and wireframes into scalable, maintainable, and high-quality code.
- Define and communicate engineering strategy, architecture vision, and technical roadmap.
- Drive organizational maturity: introduce best practices, processes, and tools that optimize team performance and product quality.
- Manage budgets for technical tools, software, and infrastructure, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to maximize impact.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing software development team, fostering growth, collaboration, and accountability.
- Oversee cloud infrastructure, microservices, DevOps practices, and distributed systems.
- Collaborate with product, data, and business teams to ensure solutions meet user needs and business goals.
- Lead technical vision for R&D and contribute to product strategy discussions.
- Encourage innovation and experimentation while ensuring reliable, scalable, and secure software delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience & Technical Skills:
- 5 years in software engineering.
- Strong experience in full-stack development: JavaScript frameworks (React.js, jQuery), Node.js or Java, Python, ASP.NET MVC.
- Expertise in databases, queues, streaming, caching, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, DevOps, and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with AI/ML, NLP, or advanced analytics a plus.
- Agile experience, with a focus on Lean practices and iterative delivery.
