SPORDA Tech is hiring a Telecom Engineer to support a NYC government agency's telecom infrastructure — 7,000 users, 37 locations, including 2 secure detention facilities. 100% on-site, Monday–Friday.
What you'll do:
- Handle phone repairs, moves, adds & changes across field offices
- Support Centrex-to-VoIP conversion (station reviews, testing, training)
- Administer Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS), VoIP & voicemail systems
- Manage data circuits (WAN, Internet, PRIs) with carriers & network teams
- Install/terminate cabling; design & maintain MDF/IDF closets
- Configure and troubleshoot video teleconferencing (VTC) endpoints
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee cabling projects
- Track inventory and resolve tickets via Service Desk software
- Train end users on telecom equipment and systems
What you bring:
- 5 years as a Telecom Engineer/Technician in an enterprise environment
- Hands-on experience with Centrex-to-VoIP migration and Cisco HCS
- Familiarity with Verizon Enterprise Direct, CMAC, VMM, and IVR systems
- Active CCNA, Network , or Security certification preferred
- Strong cabling/MDF-IDF skills; comfortable in tight closets
- Able to lift/move equipment up to 50 lbs
- OSHA 30 and bilingual Spanish a plus
- Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills; thrives under pressure
- Must clear background check for secure government facility access
