Product Manager – Child Care Technology Initiative (Contract)
Location: Hybrid – 3 days on-site in Brooklyn, NY (2 MetroTech Center, Brooklyn, NY 11201); 2 days remote Schedule: Monday–Friday, normal business hours, 35 hours/week Contract Length: ~6 months (Est. Start: August 17, 2026 | Est. End: February 14, 2026) Total Estimated Hours: 910 hours Pay Rate: Up to $71.00/hour (W2, based on experience)
About the Role
SPORDA Tech is seeking an experienced Product Manager to support a major child care technology initiative on behalf of a public sector client. This is a high-impact contract role where you'll lead end-to-end delivery of digital applications and services that directly improve the lives of families and children.
You'll serve as the product manager for a multi-disciplinary team, guiding products through the full lifecycle — from strategy and discovery through launch, continuous delivery, and support.
What You'll Do
- Synthesize research, analytics, and best practices to solve real problems for end users
- Build and communicate product roadmaps that outline direction and timing for development
- Own the software product lifecycle from concept to launch, bridging strategy, UX, and engineering
- Translate research and desk analysis into validated features that solve genuine user problems
- Prioritize work to maximize user value and program impact, filtering out low-value requests
- Define and monitor KPIs to drive evidence-based improvements
- Partner with program owners to define shared outcomes and success metrics
- Write user stories, acceptance criteria, and system requirements alongside UX and engineering
- Collaborate across teams and stakeholder groups, treating other departments as customers in their own right
What You'll Need (Required)
- 8 years of proven experience in a product management role, launching digital features/products using SDLC best practices
- Hands-on experience across the full product cycle: planning, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
- Proven ability to manage multiple products simultaneously, from strategy down to execution details
- Strong experience using data (e.g., Google Analytics) to prioritize decisions, enhancements, and new features
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex challenges
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
- A collaborative, self-motivated, and proactive approach to work
- Track record of bringing diverse groups and perspectives together toward a common goal
- Experience working across multiple ecosystems, platforms, and technologies
