Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Plasma Table Operator to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of plasma cutting experience, strong AutoCAD skills, and a solid understanding of material grades and plate processing. Our facility operates a high-definition plasma system capable of production cutting up to 2" thick plate, supporting structural and fabrication projects.
Responsibilities:
- Operate high-definition CNC plasma cutting equipment
- Create and modify drawings using AutoCAD
- Perform part nesting using Steel Solutions software
- Select correct parameters for various material grades and thicknesses
- Perform production cutting up to 2" thick plate
- Inspect finished parts to ensure accuracy and quality
- Maintain cutting equipment and ensure safe shop practices
- Work with shop personnel to maintain production schedules
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of CNC plasma table operating experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience with nesting software (Steel Solutions preferred)
- Knowledge of material grades and plate specifications
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication/shop drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to work in a fast-paced fabrication environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in structural steel or heavy plate fabrication
- Experience operating high-definition plasma systems
- Knowledge of production cutting processes
