Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Plasma Table Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining plasma cutting machines to produce precise metal components. Your expertise in CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programming, blueprint reading, and fabrication will ensure high-quality output and efficient workflow. Duties
- Operate plasma cutting tables with precision, ensuring accurate cuts according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings.
- Program CNC plasma tables using specialized software to optimize cutting paths and efficiency.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and technical specifications to produce parts that meet quality standards.
- Set up and calibrate plasma cutting equipment, including tooling, sheet metal, and fixtures for each job.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC laser cutting, plasma tables, press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other fabrication tools.
- Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, precision measuring instruments, and visual checks to verify dimensional accuracy.
- Use hand tools, cranes, forklifts, and other mechanical equipment safely to handle materials and assist in fabrication processes.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks and ensure adherence to safety protocols throughout all operations.
- Maintain detailed records of production runs, inspection reports, and machine maintenance logs for traceability and continuous improvement.
Experience
- Proven experience operating plasma cutting tables or similar CNC machinery within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages and software used for laser cutting and plasma operations.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings essential for precise fabrication.
- Hands-on experience with welding, sheet metal fabrication, tooling setup, and quality inspection techniques preferred.
- Ability to use basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during production runs.
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), press brakes, CNC mills/lathes is advantageous.
- Certification in forklift operation or crane handling is a plus but not mandatory; safety training is required prior to employment.
