What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barback position at Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino?
Supports bartenders by stocking liquor, beer, mixers, ice, and supplies; keeps bar areas clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards. Assists with glassware, kegs, trash removal, and guest service as needed. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work nights/weekends/holidays, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Previous bar or casino experience preferred. Must meet all gaming, alcohol, and tribal employment requirements.
- Practices, supports, and maintains the Mission, Vision and Values of Casino.
- Set up bars for operation; cuts fruit; stocks ice; empties garbage.
- Support bartenders' needs and maintains the bar stock.
- Report any maintenance problems to Beverage Shift Supervisor.
- Work in assigned location and shift per department needs.
- Maintain par levels and orders bar supplies; delivers orders.
- Sort bottles and corrugated cardboard for recycling.
- Maintain bar cleanliness in accordance with health department standards.
- Assist cocktail servers with clearing glassware and clutter from casino floor.
- Work in environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume. Incumbents are at times subjected to hazards such as so-mat vapors.
- Communicate effectively always with all levels of employees.
- Inspect and maintain areas for which responsible.
- Review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
- Use the equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to lifting to 50 pounds of ice, garbage or bar supplies, lifting kegs weighing approximately 200 pounds, and moving carts weighing in excess of 400 pounds throughout shift.
- Perform other tasks assigned.
- High School Diploma / GED; Recognized Equivalent of a High School Diploma (RED) or Foreign High School Diploma (FHD).
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Prior food and beverage background helpful, but not required.
- These skills and abilities are typically acquired through two months of on-the-job training or through related experience.
