What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Bartender position at Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino?
The Bartender-Banquet is an On-Call position. Responsible for mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following standard recipes at cash and hosted bars. Ensures the banquet bar is set up appropriately and stocked with supplies; maintains accurate inventory records and maintains cash bar bank within established procedures, policies, and rules.
- Practices, supports, and maintains the Mission, Vision and Values of Casino.
- Set up bars and accessories as directed by BEO and Banquet Captain.
- Serve liquor, beer, soda, juice and mixed drinks with standard garnishments.
- Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
- Utilize POS system proficiently.
- Accept payment, when applicable, for guest’s orders
- Maintain accurate consumption sheets and other related paperwork.
- Balance cash receipts and process bank with appropriate standard operating procedures when applicable, at conclusion of event.
- Comply with all inventory control measures.
- Break down the bar and store supplies at the end of the function.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area following sanitation standards.
- Assist with banquet staff duties as directed.

- Skills and Abilities Required
- Demonstrate excellent Guest service and communication skills.
- Exhibit proven knowledge and skill in mixology, beer, and wine, as well as alcohol safety awareness.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of P.O.S. systems.
- Demonstrate knowledge of BERG liquor dispensing system.
- Demonstrate basic math skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to interact with Guests, co-workers, management, and vendors in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
- Demonstrate mature judgment and professionalism in handling all matters.
- Demonstrate ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse, read, write, and read English fluently.
- Exhibit working knowledge of health & safety standards, and safety regulations as required.
- Perform other tasks assigned.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Three (3) years of bartending experience required. Completion of Bartending School, or equivalent training, and two (2) years of bartending experience may be considered in lieu of the three-year experience requirement.
- One (1) year of banquet bartending experience required.
- At least two (2) years of experience working in a variety of capacities within a high-volume Banquet/Catering operation, with one (1) year of fine dining service required.
- Obtain and maintain a valid WA State Health Card/Food Handlers Permit.
- Obtain and maintain a valid MAST certification.
- Strong guest service and problem-solving skills.
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise, smoke, and temperature levels
